Health care help now |
Phillyburbs.com | June 3, 2008 |
To the Editor:
Every day working families are faced with an increasing number of challenges as health care costs continue to rise and as more and more individuals are struggling to find quality and affordable health insurance. Health care reform is one of the primary focuses in the upcoming presidential election.
Right now, however, we have an opportunity to provide affordable and accessible health insurance to several thousand people right here in Pennsylvania. In March, the state House voted with bipartisan support to send to the Senate a health care bill that would provide health insurance to over 250,000 individuals in Pennsylvania. [ read more ]

Montgomery County Democratic Women's Leadership Initiative Endorses Lisa Romaniello |
June 3, 2008 |
Our endorsement committee interviewed and proposed that we endorse Lisa Romaniello, candidate for State Representative in the 152nd District. During the May meeting the steering committee agreed.
Lisa feels this is an important time in history to push for more reform, more accountability, and to make sure we are investing in a green sustainable future.
She is not running for office to be a politician but she recognizes that it is time to do things differently. "We need a government that is proactive, not reactive. A government that cares about people - focused on preventative healthcare, early childhood education, and economic opportunity. It's time we put new ideas on the table to old problems and move PA forward. It's time to be progressive. I believe that's the kind of leadership I will offer", she says.
Lisa is concerned about the economy and the environment, and the problems that plague her district. We believe she has new ideas, energy and an ability to put creative solutions on the table.
